New Book Added to Free Stuff Page

Written by David Dunn on June 30, 2008 – 7:31 pm

I’ve just added a new addition to the Free Stuff page. This book was a one I got for my Mam to read and now she has read it I’m giving it away on Buy Me A Ferrari.

To claim this book just follow the normal procedure, and can I just take the time to reiterate that as much as a donation would be very kind, it is definitely not required to claim free stuff from Buy Me A Ferrari.

The book in question is in paperback and is in very good condition, the only problem being a creased spine. Still in very much readable condition.

More information about the book can be found on Amazon.

Entering Competitions

Written by David Dunn on June 29, 2008 – 12:59 pm

As this blog is a little more personal than it was before I now feel as though I can talk about things I am doing rather than just stuff to do with making money.

So I now want to introduce something that I used to do quite regularly but stopped just recently. What I am talking about is entering competitions (if you hadn’t already guessed by the title of the post).

I used to be online daily to enter competitions but I just don’t seem to make the time for it anymore. This is going to change as I could realistically make money by entering competitions or better still save money by winning the stuff that I would alternatively be buying.

One place I have used for years is Loquax. Loquax is a competition portal and links to loads and loads of great competitions some of which I have won over the years (nothing too special yet though).

Another site which I have came across is UK Wins. I find that this site is also a great competition portal and I quite like the way in which the competitions are listed on there.

I’m now going to enter a load of competitions - wish me luck people! Also, seen as both the competition on here and the one on FerrariDave has been a bit of a flop, I think I am not going to bother with it. Stay tuned for a better competition very soon though and I have an idea whereby there will need to be enough people entering.

New Blogging Direction

Written by David Dunn on June 29, 2008 – 10:38 am

Hi everyone that may or may not be reading this blog post (just realised it’s a bit silly saying that as you’re obviously reading it right now and those that aren’t can’t read it… if that any sense!)

I’ve decided that Buy Me A Ferrari is still going to be a blog about making money but it isn’t just going to be about making money online. I’m going to keep track of all my money making (and money losing) in my life.

This therefore includes anything made online or offline and also anything I spend online and offline.

I’ve decided to do this as I have just got myself a weekend job at Mercedes-Benz of Newcastle on reception. I kind of stumbled upon this job accidentally as I was doing my second work experience there (in the sales department) and it was revealed that there was a vacancy on weekends - which is ideal when I am still at school.

The wage is £6.50 per hour and initially I will be working 2pm to 5pm on Saturday and 10am to 4pm on a Sunday. Once the girl that is currently doing 8:30am to 2pm leaves I will also be doing the hours that she is.

Hopefully I won’t end up spending it as quickly as I earn it but I will be detailing everything like that on this blog, both the highs and the lows.

The second income I have at the moment is EMA (Education Maintenance Allowance), which currently stands at £30 per week, only if I was in school for the full five days the previous week. So if I am ill one day the previous week I won’t receive it at all.

That also reminds me that I need to fill out and get sent off the new EMA form for next year at sixth form.

I’ll leave it at that for the moment, any comment about the new ideas would be appreciated, whether they be negative or positive.

First Free Stuff Item Claimed and more

Written by David Dunn on June 12, 2008 – 8:32 pm

The first item from the Buy Me A Ferrari Free Stuff page has been claimed by Mr. Nand-Lal. The book claimed was ‘Another Weird Year 2004′ and this book will be on it’s way to him tomorrow.

The same person was also the first person who entered the Buy Me A Ferrari ‘Win £10 worth of National Lottery Scratch Cards‘ competition.

This means that Mr. Nand-Lal is also the automatic winner of 1x £2 Scratch Card and 2 months free advertising on Buy Me A Ferrari.

The scratch card will be on it’s way tomorrow with the book and I will be in touch to confirm whether or not he would like the advertising, if so, what and where he would like it.

Thanks to Mr. Nand-Lal for being the first person to claim something from my free stuff page and also the first entrant into the competition.

Can I remind people that they can still enter the Buy Me A Ferrari competition and also they can enter the competition on FerrariDave with a similar kind of prize.

Grab Yourself Some Free Stuff

Written by David Dunn on June 11, 2008 – 5:02 pm

Everybody in the world likes free stuff right?

I’ve got to admit, I’m exactly the same as everyone else - a freebie is a freebie, no matter how small or big :)

This post however is not just here for me to ramble on about how much people like free stuff, I’m here to tell you about a new section to Buy Me A Ferrari.

After attempting to sell a couple of books on eBay, to no avail, I decided that some way I would give them away to people. It was at this point when I thought about giving them away on one of my blogs.

From this point forward, if one of my items doesn’t sell on eBay, it will be listed on the new FREE STUFF page for any of the Buy Me A Ferrari readers to grab.

Every time there is a new item listed, I will blog about it, with details about the item so you can claim it if you would like it.

First two items

The first two items are going to be the books I mentioned before.

The Oxford Pocket School Thesaurus

ISBN: 0-19-910682-7

The Oxford Pocket School Thesaurus could be the ideal book for your son/daughter to use while at school or even to use yourself as a handy pocket-size reference guide.

Another Weird Year 2004

ISBN: 009188903-0

A book full of bizzare news from around the world. Not one I have read personally, but I had a flick through before posting this and some of the news is rather interesting - even if a tad weird!

So if you would like to grab either of the above please do so by checking out how on the FREE STUFF page.

Win £10 worth of National Lottery Scratch Cards

Written by David Dunn on June 5, 2008 – 9:50 am

I thought it was about time I ran another competition on Buy Me A Ferrari. For this competition I have decided to give away something a bit different than usual.

The prize for this competition is £10 worth of National Lottery scratch cards.

As you have probably work out, this competition has the potential to be worth one hell of a lot more than £10, depending on how much each of the scratch cards wins. However, there is also the fact that it could be worth absolutely nothing at all - suppose it’s the ‘beauty of any lottery-based system!

If you would like to be in with a chance of winning this great (or poor depending on the outcome of the scratch cards) prize, you can do one/some/all of the following tasks:

  • Comment on this blog post and drop me an email compjun08@buymeaferrari.co.uk so that I have an email on file for all correspondence (Buy Me A Ferrari will not spam any entrants and the email addresses will only be used in conjunction with this prize draw) (2 Entries - this task must be done)
  • Comment on any other blog post on Buy Me A Ferrari using the email address you previously registered (1 Entry per comment)
  • Thumb up/I like it any of the blog posts on Buy Me A Ferrari using the StumbleUpon toolbar (3 Entries per Thumb up/I like it)

Can I enter outside of the United Kingdom?

You also may be wondering whether or not you can enter if you are in the United States or other country. Yes, of course you can, all that will happen is I will scratch the cards for you and Paypal the money across to you.

How will the prize draw take place?

At the End of July 2008 (the 31st to be precise), I will have compiled a list of entrants and given each entry an individual number. I will then get the random.org integer generator to give me the winner of the scratch cards.

What happens if I am selected as the winner?

You get the choice of how many scratch cards you would like (10x £1, 5x £2, 2x £5) and I will go out and purchase the amount of cards that you have requested. I will then bring them home and make a video scratching out the winning scratch cards. This video will be published on Buy Me A Ferrari and the winner will then find out how much they have won altogether.

Now - what are you waiting for? Go start getting those entries in :-)

The Thirty Day Challenge - 2008

Written by David Dunn on June 3, 2008 – 5:56 pm

Some of you will and some of you wont have heard about the Thirty Day Challenge but nevertheless it will become apparent to you at the end of this post.

I originally signed up to the 30DC last year, with every intention of following everything that went on. However, things didn’t really go to plan and my GCSEs got on top of me and I had very little time for anything else.

This year however, my AS Level exams are out of the way and I have free time to basically do whatever (except for ICT work as that’s all coursework based).

Quick 30DC Intro

I’ll take this straight from the Thirty Day Challenge website as Ed and Dan can probably explain this better than I can!

In a nutshell… The Thirty Day Challenge is about making your first $10 online. For a full 30 days we are going to be showing you exactly how to start your own Internet business and generate your first income online without spending a dime.
That’s right, this is going to cost zip, diddly, nothing, nada, ziltch. The entire training program is free, and you won’t have to spend a thing to get your business started and begin making money. No credit card required.

So there you have it, straight from the horse’s mouth, so-to-speak.

Why I want to do it

I really want to do this as I’d love to start making some decent money on the internet (to buy my Ferrari of course :P).

Strictly speaking I have already made my first $10 on the internet through advertising/Google AdSense etc. However, this does not stop me from entering into the Thirty Day Challenge. I’d love to have a proper internet business and also continue blogging.

When does it start?

The pre-season material has started to be published today but the challenge itself commences on the 1st of August and lasts for (as the title suggests) thirty days.

How do I join?

Well all you need to do is visit their website and enter your name and email address. However, if you are feeling really kind, you can register using my link HERE. But it is entirely up to you which you use. I have no idea yet what I get for referring people but point make prizes, so I am told and when I refer someone to the challenge I get points!

If you don’t want to register using my referral link, feel free to click here instead. It would be appreciated if you registered through me though, but whatever you prefer :)

I’ll now finish this introduction to the Thirty Day Challenge. I will be posting very shortly about the first piece of pre-season material.
